  1. I thought this act of “deciphering” had a deep connection with Foucault’s “The Prose of the World”. Foucault argues that people are wired to find “signs” in the world, and “de-sign” new things. In other words, human are meant to analyze the macrocosm and extract the complex system that gives structure to that macrocosm, and then apply those same principles in the creation of her own microcosm–whether it be architecture, painting, novel, etc. Language is in a way a microcosm of this world.

    I can also imagine this conversation triggering debates between creationism vs. evolution, which is always fun but never end with any conclusions. 😀
